Five years ago this month, a legend was born.  Indeed, in August of 2008, production began on HANK DANGER AND THE FOUNTAIN OF DEATH!  Little did writer/producer/director Joshua Courtade know that his microbudget homage to classic serial films would spawn three more serials, a short film, a radio play, and a small but devoted group of fans.

So go ahead and celebrate five years of Hank Danger with a marathon.  Watch all the films -- HANK DANGER AND THE FOUNTAIN OF DEATH!, HANK DANGER AND THE SPACE MUMMY'S TOMB!, HANK DANGER AND THE LEAGUE OF SCIENTISTS!, HANK DANGER AND THE RIDDLE MOUNTAIN CURSE!, and the award-winning short HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! -- and the listen to the radio play -- HANK DANGER AND THE ISLAND OF FIRE!  It's easily the best way to spend this weekend!

Last night, many members of West Michigan's film community gathered at the Grand Rapids Art Museum for the second annual Eclipse Awards, presented by WKTV and the West Michigan Film and Video Alliance.

HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! received an award for Production Excellence in the Film & Video category.  Writer/producer/director Joshua Courtade was on hand to accept the award.  In his speech, he thanked the organizations behind the event, his family, and the five other people who have worked on all five Hank Danger films to date: Scott Merriman, Liz Merriman, Diane Kowalski, Robert William Ford, and Chris Porter.

It was a fun evening!

HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! will receive an Eclipse Award for Production Excellence on Friday, April 19, 2013!  The Eclipse Awards are given annually by WKTV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the West Michigan Film and Video Alliance.

This is the first such award for the Hank Danger series!

Writer/director/producer Joshua Courtade will be present at the Grand Rapids Art Museum to accept the award on the 19th!

HANK DANGER AND THE RIDDLE MOUNTAIN CURSE! will be screened at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Grand Rapids Toy and Comic Expo!  All film screenings are included in the cost of admission to the Expo.

Hank Danger writer/producer/director Joshua Courtade will be in attendance.

HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! will be screened as part of Joshua's Big 20-Year Movie Extravaganza at 1 PM on Saturday, September 8!

Joshua Courtade has received a nomination for Best Direction at the Blue Water Film Festival for his work on HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS!  The festival takes place the first weekend in October in Port Huron, Michigan!

HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! is an official selection of this year's Blue Water Film Festival!  The festival takes place on October 5 and 6!  More details to come!

HANK DANGER AND THE WOMAN FROM VENUS! will be included in an upcoming retrospective screening of films directed by Joshua Courtade!  JOSHUA'S BIG 20-YEAR MOVIE EXTRAVAGANZA! will take place at Compass College of Cinematic Arts in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, September 8, at 1 PM!

The latest Hank Danger short film -- HANK DANGER AND THE MENACE OF TIME! -- has already been postponed twice, leading writer/director/producer Joshua Courtade to explore alternate ways to create the film.  One of the top possibilities is as an animated short!  Will Hank Danger become a cartoon character?  Stay tuned to find out!
